Objets in Boutiqueville
"Goede's line began to catch the eye of Chicago shoppers...not that they needed too much help. The bright colors, chunky shapes and light-catching crystals are hard to miss, and they satisfy accessory needs while offering a dose of cheer. '[It's] my happy bracelet,' says a loyal Goede customer of her favorite piece. But it's not just stylish Chicagoans who have taken notice of Goede's work. Her jewelry has been featured on 'The Today Show' and has been spotted around Hollywood on the likes of Susan Sarandon and other celebrities."

Kirsten was quoted about the popularity of bracelets. "Shift bracelets to the top shelf of the jewelry box this spring and you'll be arm in arm with Hollywood's elite. 'Look at any awards show. Women are wearing bracelets and earrings rather than necklaces,' says Kirsten Goede, the Chicago designer of the Objets d'Envy jewelry line. Choose one or create an ensemble cast. Wearing multiple pieces is in, Goede says...a couple of cuffs, or one big cuff and a couple of bangles. Talk about a scene stealer."

I've been a fan of Portland Picks for a couple years. I've been intrigued by that newsletter that showcases all the trends, styles, designs and hot spots in Portland. Then one day I get a call from Abby (a fab Chi-town writer and all around trendy girl) who says they're starting Chicago Picks. Hooray! Even better: they wanted to write about my champagne bracelet. Check out their site. And be sure to sign up for their newsletter. It comes every Friday and will keep you up-to-date with all the Chicago insider tips.

Cynthia writes the The Mix's StyleFile and featured Objets d'Envy: "I had the pleasure of wearing one of Kirsten Goede's bracelets at a Style File event and I have never received more compliments on a piece of jewelry. It was such a wonderful feeling having everyone stop me and notice the crystal bracelet as it shimmered in the light! Check out her websiteĆshe designs bracelets, rings, necklaces and much more! You will be the 'envy' of everyone!"

"What I find most visually appealing, and what I think is most envelope-pushing, design-wise, these aren't necessarily things that the mainstream public wants to buy. There's a huge disconnect between what moves us in Vogue and what we'll actually drop $100 on. So when Macy's handed over the list of the local designers they'll be carrying in fall, I wasn't surprised. The folks who got the nod have the most experience working with real clients."
Chicago Magazine Coda, July 30, 2007

"I started on a whim," Kirsten Goede designer of the line, Objets d'Envy, said, "I didn't imagine this could be a business." Goede's jewelry, comprised of Swarovski crystal, is colorful, simple and elegant. Graduating with a Masters in Fine Art from Boston University in 1990, she began designing jewelry for herself about five years ago. But she noted that she did not know much about trade shows, pricing, buying and other aspects of the business. She has since exhibited her designs at the Indie Fashion Market and received guidance from a Marshall Field's Designs of Distinction event two years ago. "I got great feedback and implemented some of their suggestions."
